In addition to watching world-class players, fans will have opportunity to enjoy local cuisines and concessions
LA QUINTA, Calif. (January 16, 2026) – In conjunction with the PGA TOUR, The American Express® unveiled the full field for its 2026 event, which will feature 156 players competing across three courses: The Stadium Course at PGA West, The Nicklaus Tournament Course at PGA West, and La Quinta Country Club. Headlining the field is World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who returns to the Coachella Valley for the first time since 2024. The four-time major winner missed last year’s tournament due to injury.
In addition to Scheffler, 11 other players currently ranked among the top 25 in the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) will tee it up at this year’s The American Express®. Those players are defending champion Sepp Straka (12), Russell Henley (5), Robert MacIntyre (7), Ben Griffin (8), Justin Rose (10), Harris English (11), Alex Noren (13), Ludvig Åberg (18), Matt Fitzpatrick (21), Sam Burns (24), and Patrick Cantlay (25).
“We are thrilled to have such a strong field in the Coachella Valley once again,” said Tournament Director Pat McCabe.
“The world’s best golfer, a dozen top 25 players, numerous major champions, and other favorites will give our fans and our partners plenty to cheer for.”
Aside from Scheffler, Rose, and Fitzpatrick, who are major winners all ranked among the top 25 in the OWGR, Wyndham Clark, Jason Day, Brian Harman, Adam Scott, Gary Woodland, and Jason Dufner are six major champions who will tee it up this year.
Other fan favorites include Michael Block, Luke Clanton, Joel Dahmen, Nick Dunlap, Tony Finau, Rickie Fowler, Max Homa, Billy Horschel, Sungjae Im, Zach Johnson, Matt Kuchar, Min Woo Lee, Keith Mitchell, Neal Shipley, Nick Taylor, Sahith Theegala, Camillo Villegas, and Brandt Snedeker, the last of whom will captain the United States team at the 2026 Presidents Cup.

In addition to seeing some of best golfers in the world up close, fans will have the opportunity to enjoy local concessions from the Coachella Valley while soaking in the action.
Papa Headz and TKB will be situated at The Turn, the ultimate Fan Area that sits between the 1st tee and 9th green on PGA West’s Stadium Course.
Papa Headz began amid the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and served specialty French Fries only. They have since expanded their menu, which includes the PH burger. The PH burger was a finalist for Best Burger in the Coachella Valley in 2023.
TKB, abbreviated for The Kids’ Business, began in 1991 in Southern California and is now one of the most successful delis in America. In 2018, Yelp.com voted this family-friendly enterprise as the “#1 Restaurant in America.” TKB has earned many other accolades.
Adjacent to the 18th green on the Stadium Course will be Five O3 Pupusas, which serves authentic El Salvadorean pupusas that are available in a wide variety of options. This restaurant in Cathedral City opened in 2023 and actively participates at music and art festivals in the region.
Spicy Pie, a well-known pizza favorite at Coachella Valley music festivals for over two decades, will also sit next to the 18th green. Spicy Pie also travels around the country, providing huge and delicious slices to hungry customers.
